Mock Interview
In yesterday's mock interviews, I had the opportunity to observe many students practice talking one and one with the teachers. For an interview there are essential things that a student must do. Proper attire is something which wasn't really a big thing yesterday but we were taught that most of the times companies look for people who act in a professional manner. I had seen many students who had trouble making eye contact with the other person. There was often times the "handshakes wasn't good enough."
Usually when being interviewed students tend to be nervous and talk like a robot. But the main thing is to be relaxed and talk normal. You have to be really into the job and when speaking refer to what you like about the company or job.
The interviewer doesn't care if you want the job for the money. They want to hear why you want the job and how it will help you in the future. When asked why should they pick you for the job, you must be confident and tell them all the good things like "I'm an expert at Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign," etc. Don't say things like you're always late and unorganized. During the mock interviews there were students who were students who were loud and successful at projecting their voice and then there were students who were quiet and often looked shy. Speaking clear and loud gives the interviewer a brief description of what type of person you are. What companies look for an employer is their best effort and usually want somebody who can work well with other people.
