Machines that learn language more like kids do

This article was about how computer model could improve human-machine interaction, provide insight into how children learn language.  Researchers describe a parser that learns through observation to more closely mimic a child's language-acquisition process, which could greatly extend the parser's capabilities. MIT researchers have developed a “semantic parser” that learns through observation to more closely mimic a child’s language-acquisition process, which could greatly extend computing’s capabilities. Children learn language by observing their environment, listening to the people around them, and connecting the dots between what they see and hear. Among other things, this helps children establish their language's word order, such as where subjects and verbs fall in a sentence.
My opinion about this article is that there are pros and cons about teaching children with the use of technology. The pros are that most children in this generation are sticked to their video games and devices so it will be easier to catch their attention than to teach them by person. But the cons could also be that children might tend to get used to this method and forget about socializing in real-world situations. They might slack off and do bad in written tests or may get bad ideas off from the internet.
